The Mentor has the explicit role of assisting and supporting Learners in their learning process either on a personal level or to support learners with learning difficulties.

Assessment process

Learners are given sufficient time during the workshop to collect evidence for their portfolios.  The portfolio is submitted to LSS for assessment and as soon as the Learner-Mentor is found competent, learners will receive a letter and assessment report indicating their competence declaration.  These credits contribute 1 unit standard and 5 credits at NQF Level 4.
