The role of the Coach

According to the Learnership contract Annexure A, the learners have to receive 70% practical on-job training.  It is the responsibility of the Coach to facilitate the training on a one-on-one basis in the work environment.  It is also important for the Coach to understand his/her role in contributing to the development of skills according to the National Skills Development Strategy.

Assessment

Learners are given sufficient time during the workshop to collect evidence for their portfolios.  The portfolio is submitted to LSS for assessment and as soon as the Learner-Coach is found competent, learners will receive a letter and assessment report indicating their competence declaration.
